Rehearsal Dinner photos

Here are a few pictures from the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner!!! We had a great time spending our last night as "single people" with our family and friends.

Here is a picture of Les and I before rehearsal started. After this picture I walked into the sanctuary and cried. It looked beautiful! Here is what I saw when I walked in and saw the sanctuary! Just beautiful!! Thank you to everyone who helped us decorate - it looked beautiful!!
Here is Les reading his "Menu". Le Menu is for all the lingerie that was given to me at the lingerie party!! It was a complete blast, but 1 of the names was really embarrassing!! hahaha Those are great times and great memories!!!!!!!! Thank you friends!!!
This metal ring is so cool. In fact, Les hung it out on our front porch and it looks awesome. This was given to us by my parents. It says on the top "The Cornelius'" and underneath "Est. October 6, 2007." It is soo cool and looks great on the front porch. :) The Texas shape in the middle has a star cut-out approximately where Lucas is. That is where we live!!

Bachelorette Party

Here are just a 3 pictures from the Bachelorette party and it was a blast!! Thank you girls for making my party the most unforgettable night with ya'll. Love you all so much!!!!
Here is a cute picture of Christy and I. YEAH!!!!
Here is a cute shot of Kristy and Julie!! We had so much fun - when are we going to do it again?!
Here is me trying to be seductive with the chocolate. Thanks for all the advice ladies!!!

Pre-Wedding Pictures

Here are a few pics from while we were trying to get all the preparations done for the wedding. It was a great 5 months preparing for the wedding. My mom and I had a really good time doing the prep work for the wedding and it all paid off and went so smooth!! Here is a picture of my father and I. Doesn't he look just so cute in a veil and tiara!! This was one of my dress fittings. I used David's Bridal and had great service.
Here is a really cute picture of my parents each kissing me. I really like this picture and even used it at the reception. We had pictures placed around the reception area.
Here is a picture of my 2nd mom - Doris! This was also at one of the dress fittings. She came to see me in my dress. We always had fun at the fittings!
I know everyone would like to see Les in his veil too.........hahaha This was actually my mom's veil that she wore in her wedding!! We put it on Les while we were cooking out one night this past summer. Isn't he just so cute?!?!
Here is a black and white picture of me and my dress. I had fun playing with the camera adjustments. I like this picture too in B&W.

Married Life!!

Wow, I don't know where the time has gone - we have been married for 3 wks now!!!!!! Les and I got hitched on October 6th at 2 PM! It was the best day of my life so far. I am so happy that God gave me Les and I couldn't be any happier. Married life is awesome!

We had a wonderful honeymoon and can't believe that I have been back to work now for 2 weeks. I am now starting my 3rd week back and doing great. The first week back was very rough. I started feeling dizzy on Tuesday and almost passed out that afternoon. It was very scary. My doctor told me that she thinks I was suffering from exhaustion. I got a lot of rest and FINALLY after about 2 days got my color back (I was pale for a few days) and felt more rested.

I went last week with my SIL who is pregnant with triplets to the doctor. It was so cool! I got to see the 3 babies and it was awesome. I had never seen a sonogram before and I was super excited! If you want to read about her pregnancy with triplets go to: www.triple-a-amy.blogspot.com.

Last night (Sunday), Les and I took our dogs out on the boat for a stroll around the lake. That was a lot of fun! Kodiak, who LOVES the water had a great time, especially when we let her get in. Bear, who HATES the water had a great time too. Once he realized that he was safe in the boat he relaxed some and enjoyed it. It did scare him when Les was flying across the water and hitting some bumps in the water.

I can't think of much else, so I'm going to get back to work. Ciao for now! :)

I'm HOME!!!

I made it home safely from Colombia only by God's help. Let me tell you of the adventure that I had flying from Colombia on Tuesday.

We were flying Avianca Airlines from Barranquilla to Miami. On this flight we had 2 scary incidents. #1 - I was really cold on the flight and so was the man next to me. We both turned our AC's off and were covered in our blankets. I got up about 1/2 way home and went to the bathroom. As I got closer to the back of the plane you could hear an alarm going off (not a watch alarm). I noticed that the back door of the plane had napkins stuff all around it. There was an air leak!!!!! So now I'm thinking that I am definitely ready to land and be in the US. As we started our decent into Miami; we were going through a t-storm and our plane was struck by a lightening bolt!! It was really loud with a very bright flash. I was reading an article online about lightning and it said that this is a rather common occurence. They said that they sent 1400 planes into storms and 700 of them were hit. This was the 1st time this has ever happened to me though and I have flown ALOT!! I was so glad when we finally touched down in the USA.

On my flight from Miami to Dallas, we were pulling away from the gate and were starting to go towards the tarmac for take-off and the plane completely died and all the lights went out. However, the emergency lights quickly came on. I told my co-worker sitting by me that I wanted off the plane. Our Captain came on and said that our auxiliary something had to be re-lit and it would only take 30 seconds. Then we were on our way to DFW. I was still a little nervous about that flight, but once we got in the air and cruising home - I was good to go. I read and tried to rest before I got home.

Once we finally landed I was so happy and praised the Lord for bringing us home safely! I feel that God had his hands wrapped around our planes all the way home protecting us.

I was so excited to see Les at the airport and he surprised me by bringing our dog Kodiak. She was so glad to see me, but she was more thirsty than anything!!! hahaha

It's so good to be home and the wedding is in 9 days and I am sooo excited!! We started moving my clothes over last night - stuff that I know I won't need between now and after the honeymoon. We have been busy just continuing getting the house ready. That stuff takes time and we're getting there.

9.18.2007

Colombia or Bust!!

I am leaving for my annual conference for my job tomorrow morning. We're going to Colombia this year and I am excited!! Of course, I do want to go, but at the same time I don't want to go b/c Les and I have 18 days from today till we get married - YEAH!!! The time is starting to fly by so quickly and when I get home next Tues. we'll have 11 days. :)

I'm taking my camera and I'll try to post pictures of Colombia when I get home. I'll see ya'll next week!!

Dog Day at the Pool!!!!!

I am so excited about tomorrow. Allen (where we live) is having a Dog Day at the pool. So, I am planning on taking Kodiak to go swimming tomorrow. We went a few years ago together and had an absolute blast! They had contests like - which dog is the fastest swimming, which dog could jump off the diving board the farthest, etc. It was a blast!

I'll try to take my camera and take pictures and post them next week - that's IF I remember to take my camera.......lol I am not always the best about taking pictures, but I'll try b/c it will definitely be fun.

Here is the beginning of the pond in the beginning stages - it's really come a long way since this picture.

I am coughing and don't feel very well tonight. :( I didn't even feel like going over to Les' house - I just stayed home and chilled out. I called into work today and will probably do the same tomorrow!! I'll be glad when I am back to my cheerful self again..........I miss ME!!! lol

Power of Prayer

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT

In WWII, there was an advisor to Winston Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern, 8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety ot the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for peace in the world.

If you know anyone who whould like to participate, please pass this along. Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power available thorugh prayer, we might be speechless.Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

Brand New Sanctuary

I am so excited about this weekend at church. Our brand new sanctuary is opening up for the 1st time and I am SUPER excited!! I have seen this church grow and change since I was a young girl. I have been going to this church since I was born. I have seen the church go from a little while church in Fairview to another sanctuary that we built down the road about 1/4 mile. Then from there we moved to Allen and we're called Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church (CCBC). We have been meeting in our gym for 5-6 years and now we have a REAL sanctuary. I can hardly wait for tomorrow!!!!!!!!

1 thing that is bad is that Les won't be able to go to church with us to see this monumental service. I am disappointed and he is too, but there's not much that we can do at this point. I am thinking about surprising him and buying a DVD if I can of the service so that he can enjoy it afterwards. I know it won't be the same, but at least it's something. We have less than 2 months till we get married in this sanctuary!! :)

8.09.2007

Good luck!

Here is a picture of me and Ekeko. He supposedly grants wishes. I, of course, took my picture with him while I was in Peru. I went to this shopping place several times to eat. The food was really good and pretty darn cheap too.

The website is: www.patiodelekeko.com

Goats

Well, tonight was fun! My mom and I went and saw some friends of ours up the road who raise goats. They are in all sizes small, medium, and large! We took my nephew who had an absolute ball; which was fun.

Now we're home eating a grape salad and watching TV. Trying to get Caleb (my nephew) wound down and into bed.

Tomorrow night I have agility training with Kodiak. I haven't been in over a month. Partly because of all the rain we've been having and then I was gone for 2 of the weeks. As I think back, its actually been probably 5-6 weeks!! WOW!!! I know that Kodiak misses it b/c she loves training. Plus, she has graduated to the next class; which will begin tomorrow. Last week it was cancelled b/c of the rain - what a BIG surprise!! hahahaha

That's all for now - Kimberly

2 MONTHS!!!

Okay, so today we are at our 2 month mark till we get married and I am SUPER excited about marrying the man that I love so much and who God made just for me!!! :)

This is an old picture, but I love it!!!

The 2 weeks went by soo quickly and I had an awesome time! If you would like to know more information about how you can volunteer too. Please check out www.mmint.org. It is a non-profit, Christian organization.

I have pictures and I'll try to post some soon, but definitely NO promises. hahahaha ;)

Daily Devotion

This was my devotion for today - I really enjoyed it and thought that I would share it with everyone else too. I tend to try and control things in my life; which I shared just yesterday with my small group at church. Amazing how God speaks to us!
Have a great week - Kimberly

"Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel."
Philippians 1:12

Some things are facts of life. Tires blow out and computers crash. Teeth decay and inflation skyrockets. Ants invade picnics and people get promoted ahead of us. Some things can't be avoided.

Few of us have actual control over these facts of life. But before you totally absolve yourself from any responsibility, there's one more fact to consider: You are responsible for the way you respond to these everyday, unavoidable inconveniences. You can either give up in dismay, or you can look to your sovereign Lord, who has everything under control.

The apostle Paul assumed responsibility for his attitude toward trials. When he wrote Philippians 1:12, he knew that his response played a part in advancing the gospel - that's why he took seriously his attitude when he stumbled upon unavoidable problems - because much more was at stake. Other lives could be influenced. God was taking notice.

You may not be in prison as was Paul. However, today you may find yourself in a set of circumstances over which you have no control. The weather has ruined your outdoor plans. The traffic forces you to be late for work. The electricity went out this morning in your home. You may not be able to claim responsibility for the situation, but you can be accountable for a godly response. Just remember what's at stake.

~~~~~~~~~
Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I have an opportunity today to advance Your Gospel by my patient response to problems. I pray that as others look on - whether my family, neighbors, or co-workers - they will see that You give me power and strength to smile through the circumstances. I know that others will be influenced by my attitude. And because You are watching, help me to honor You today in all that I do. Amen.
Kodiak cont.
Kodiak and I had our agility training class last night and it went GREAT! She has an assessment on November 8th. She will be testing out of this class and into the next class. I am so excited because she LOVES the agility training. It is so neat and ful-filling to see her do what I tell her on command and keep her eyes on me to know what to do next. I can only imagine what it's like with kids. Gosh my dog makes me happy - I'm sure my kids will make me happy too - well, when I finally have them. :) Remember - I gotta get married 1st!!! :) :) :) hahahahahahaha
Anyways, I am just so proud of my Kodiak. I can't wait to see how she's doing in a year from now. I am looking forward to competing someday with her - she's gonna LOVE it and me too.
That's all for now!!
4 wheeling and coyote chasing, plus 1 extra tidbit
Okay, so Sunday Les killed 2 snakes. 1 of them was a copperhead and the other snake - I don't know what it was - just know the 2nd snake wasn't poisonous.
Something that Les and I did last week, but I didn't have time to write about was coyote chasing on the 4 wheeler. It was so much fun. We went out on the cornfields by him with the spotlight. He was driving and I was holding the spotlight. Kodiak is running with us too. So, we're shining and we catch a pair of eyes. So, we start going towards the eyes and it looks little to me. I asked Les if it was a rabbit and he didn't know. We get closer and it stands up and it's a coyote!!!! So, Les takes off and I'm holding on to him with 1 hand and holding the spotlight on the coyote with the other hand. It was definitely an adventure and FUN!!!! If you ever get a chance to do something like - I say DO IT!!! It is a rush. We don't catch the coyote, but we still ride around with Kodiak still running. After a while Les starts to feel sorry for her and decides to see if we can get her to ride on the 4 wheeler with us. We get her up there and sat down. Then I'm talking to her and holding her on b/c she is a little scared at 1st, but that quickly fades and she LOVES riding on the 4 wheeler. Talk about a site that night. hahaha
Les driving, then Kodiak, and I'm facing the back with my legs handing off the back of the 4 wheeler. It was fun!!!
10.04.2006
Kodiak
I wanted to post an update on my girl, Kodiak. Her and I have been in agility training at DAWG (Dallas Agility Working Group). She is learning so much and having a BLAST!!! She absolutely LOVES the training and is doing really good. It's creating a closer bond between her and I. She is learning to give me her complete attention; which is very important in this sport. She has learned to go through a tunnel (even when she can't see the other side), jump through a ring, get up on a table and stay until I give her the command to get off of it, etc. We go every Tuesday night at 7 PM and we both have a ball. I look forward to it and when she sees the place - she starts barking and pacing in the back of my explorer. I can tell she is so excited and can't wait to get out and start! :) That just thrills me so much that she likes it. I can't wait to see how far we get!!!! Les went with us last week and I think he enjoyed watching her and the other dogs too. It is neat to see her do what I tell her to and when I tell her to do it. It's amazing! Maybe I can raise dogs for a living?! I would love that!!!! I LOVE animals and would really like a horse eventually, but I don't know if that will ever happen, but at least I can dream about it, right?!?!
You can google DAWG or agility and see what we are doing. Anyways, just letting everyone know what's going on in my world. I am going to post later today about our adventure last night in chasing a coyote!!! Till the next post...............................
I get a daily devotion sent to my e-mail everyday. I really enjoy reading them - at least most of the time. Sometimes they really challenge me and those challenges can be difficult too. This was today's and I really liked it and thought it applied to all of us. Have a great week!!
"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect."
2 Samuel 22:33
The annoying alarm clock blares in your ear, and you groggily reach over to fumble with the snooze button. Just a few more minutes, you think, and then I can get up and face the day. The alarm sounds again. You know you can't put it off any longer. It's time to face the inevitable. It's time to wrestle another day to the ground. But first, seek inspiration from this prayer written by Jacob Boehme, a German shoemaker who lived more than four hundred years ago:
Rule over me this day, O God, leading me on the path of righteousness. Put Your Word in my mind and Your truth in my heart, that this day I neither think nor feel anything except what is good and honest. Protect me from all lies and falsehood, helping me to discern deception wherever I meet it. Let my eyes always look straight ahead on the road You wish me to tread, that I might not be tempted by any distraction. And make my eyes pure, that no false desires may be awakened within me.
Approaching life prayerfully can help you have the following:
a day without distractions, focused only on the important
a day viewed through pure eyes
a day marked by goodness and honesty
a day of clear direction and no deception
a day without falsehood and lies
a day in which God's Word rules your mind and His truth reigns in your heart
~~~~~~~~
No one is stronger than the one who depends on God.

Dogs Days are Over or are they for us Texans?!?!

Dog Days End (at least that's what they say)
The phrase “Dog Days” refers to the hottest days of summer. The Old Farmer’s Almanac lists the traditional timing of the Dog Days: the 40 days beginning July 3 and ending August 11, coinciding with the heliacal (at sunrise) rising of the Dog Star, Sirius. The rising of Sirius does not actually affect the weather (some of our hottest and most humid days occur after August 11), but for the ancient Egyptians, Sirius appeared just before the season of the Nile’s flooding, so they used the star as a “watchdog” for that event. Since its rising also coincided with a time of extreme heat, the connection with hot, sultry weather was made for all time.

Muttin' Bustin'

My nephew just left from being here for 1 month. While he was here we did a TON of things!

We went out to a rodeo in Honey Grove, TX and he got to ride a sheep - it was so funny. He held on as tight as he could and he stayed on for 3. 69 seconds. Let me tell you - his sheep ran out of that pin so fast. I couldn't help but laugh!

Caleb really had a good time doing that and wanted to do it again!!! My little nephew is 5 yrs. old and pretty darn brave for getting on that sheep.

If you ever get a chance to watch a muttin bustin event - GO!

creek ride

Well, Sunday evening Les and I went down a creek in the john (sp?) boat. It was him, me and my dog Kodiak. We had a good time and Kodiak had a good time swimming. We got into a quick current a few times and Kodiak would be swimming and start crying b/c she thought we were leaving her. She had fun though! Good times...... :)

We only had 1x when we almost sunk the boat.......hahaha We were in a log jam and had it over, but then water from the current starting coming over the back of the boat and we were in it - so that didn't help. We got out and made Kodiak swim while we tried to get the boat out of the water and get the water out - water is HEAVY!!!

All in all - we all made it out safely and ended with smiles on our faces. ;)

Tractor Pull

The tractor pull was a lot of fun! It was noisy at times, but overall it was cool. Les, me, Brian T., Brian H., and Jason W. went to the event.

I had to ask some questions to the guys b-4 I understand what was going on completely, but now I understand! :)

I'll write more about what is going on soon - fun times and BUSY times!!!!!!!!

How to Diagnose a Stroke

This is very important and could save someone's life.

February 01, 2006 My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks. Seriously.. Please read: STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit! shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this... A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough. RECOGNIZING A STROKE Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions: S *Ask the individual to SMILE. T *Ask the person to TALK . to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (! i.e. . . It is sunny out today) R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. {NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue... if the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke} If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Very Sweet

I think this is one of the sweetest things that I have ever seen.

I wish I could see a heart shaped by the sun like this on the water. It is very romantic and what a way to watch the sun go down with someone special.

Just thought I would pass this picture on. Have a good day! @----->----

Look If You Dare

This is for those Senior Citizens out there:

SENIOR DRESS CODE

Many of us "Old Folks" (those over 50, WAY over 50, or hovering near 50) are quite confused about how we should present ourselves. We are unsure about the kind of image we are projecting and whether or not we are correct as we try to Conform to current fashions. Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together And should be avoided:
1. A nose ring and bifocals
2. Spiked hair and bald spots
3. A pierced tongue and dentures
4. Miniskirts and support hose
5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads
6. Speedos and cellulite
7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar
8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor
9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge
10. Bikinis and liver spots
11. Short shorts and varicose veins
12. Inline skates and a walker

And last, but not least...
13. Thongs and Depends
