My Virtual Penguin

I have always wanted to go and see a real penguin - well, I will settle for this for now. Meet Penguino (penguin in spanish), he is my new baby.

adopt your own virtual pet!

I hope you are very nice to Penguino - he is my newest pet. I think I will "adopt" a new virtual pet. Can't have too many pets, well, at least when you don't have to feed them or take them to the bathroom. :)

Mountain Fork River Pictures

Beaver's Bend National Park: Here you go with a picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the view from Look-Out point. It is a little over a mile hike up there, but not difficult. It's just so pretty up there and this picture doesn't do it justice. It'll at least give a gimplse as to what I got to experience first hand.

Christmas Events

Wow, where did the weekend go??????!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see, I have been very busy the last few days, but I think it has slowed down for a few days. Okay, to start off: Saturday night - family with the Johnson's. For the most part, everyone was there except my brother and his family. We also went and looked at this house that has lights that are going to a song on a radio station (very cool) www.friscochristmas.com I think that is the site. Sunday morning - went to church at Friendship Baptist Church. Was a good service and got to meet some new people. I enjoy meeting new people. :) Sunday lunch time - Les and I went over to his families house for Christmas lunch. We had a good time there too. Sunday night we had 1 more Christmas over at my mom's side of the family. That was eventful too. Monday morning, Les picked me up at 4:15 and we drove to the deer lease (my first time hunting). We got to the lease and to the deer stand at about 7 am, then we sat up there till about 9 am. After that, we went to Broken Bow, OK to Beavers Bend National Park. We hiked to Look-out point and it was soooo pretty up there. You could see the water below(I will post a picture in a little while). We wandered around the nature center for a little while, went to the musuem, which was cool. After that, we went and got wood, then back to the deer lease for the night hunt. That was from about4:15-6 pm or so. We didn't shoot anything, but it was really cool watching/listening to the squirrels that morning. At night, I enjoyed watching the Red Birds fly around and eat corn. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I would dose off on occasion. You can't beat being out in the middle of nature and not feel close to God. It was very cool!!!! Today (Tues.) I went back to work.

Next event - New Year's Eve. YEAH! I can't believe where this year has been. Once the New Year has arrived, I will write a blog on what I have been through in 2005.

Well, that is sort of a step by step blog of my events this past weekend.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!!

Merry Christmas

Hello To All,

I wanted to write a quick post on my blog telling everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have already started thinking about my new year resolutions.........have you???

My goal is to really keep my resolution - of course, it is always hard to do, but hopefully I'll be more successful. Don't worry, I'll write what they are after the New Year.

Well, everyone have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember, Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Without his birth, we would be no where, but aimlessly wondering around the Earth with no purpose.

I love having a purpose - that purpose is to share the Love of Christ with those around me & to bring others to know Jesus too. Do you have a relationship with Jesus?? If you have questions, please feel free to leave me a message and we can talk. I am always up for discussion - that's for sure.

Peace out!!!

Enjoy the Pictures of San Antonio

I saw this bird and just had to take a picture of him. He is a 1-legged bird that was just chilling on the River Walk. He found him a home and that's where he lives. He was pretty cute. I thought he was fake at first, but then he moved a little bit. I was like," wow!."
Here is Casa Rio, a popular restaurant on the River Walk. Pretty good food too! This time we ate in El Mercado (the market). The restaurant we ate at was La Margarita. Oh was that ever so tasty! We shared the Fiesta Platter - big variety of different types of Mexican Food. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is me and the Christmas Tree. I just love the Christmas season. It is a time for families to come together and just really get to be with one another. It's a nice time to stay inside, play games, talk, etc. I always feel so warm among the cold weather. The warmth comes from being with my family and making memories. Also that fact that Jesus was born and 33 yrs. later, died for our sins. Where would be without Him dying for us?? That is something to think about, where would I be had I never seen the Light and accepted the gift of eternal life?
I would hate to see who I am without Christ. I am not perfect now, that's for sure. Those who know me will say the same, but at the same time, I am differnet because of my relationship with Jesus Christ, my Savior. Thank you God for sending Your precious, loving Son for dying on the cross for me so that my sins may be washed away!!!!!!

San Antonio

Here is a picture of my mom and I on the River Walk. It was really pretty with all the lights, but they just didn't come out as good as I had hoped for. Oh well, I have a memory in my head. We had a lot of fun wondering around downtown.

Here is a ceiling full of antlers. Les - I took this picture for you. :) There were so many, but I couldn't get that many in the pic. I wanted to make sure tha I could at least see what the picture was. It was really cool. On either side of the building, they had big ole heads of different animals. They weren't real/stuffed, but like a paper mache, but it still looked real! They were huge!!!

Here is Christmas Tree that was in front of the Alamo - I am in the pic. too, but can't see me very well at all. I finally figured out the flash thing. :)

Here is the Alamo - it stands so proud to me.

Waiting on God part2

Well, I am doing much better today. Those who wrote me on my e-mail, I appreciate it. I have talked and prayed with my mom...........and I think I am on the right path.

Thank you! That's all for now. I am going to post some pictures of San Antonio adventures. My mom and I have had a blast, but I'll save more for when I put pic. on.

Let's go........later

wintery mix

The wintery mix is finally arriving in good ole Texas. It's about time - we have had some CRAZY temps. this year. Our temps. have been fluxuating from 85 to 35 in 1 day. What is up with that.

Anyways, this post is not on a serious note - but on a FUN note. :)

IT IS SNOWING OUTSIDE!!!!!!! Of course, I sit by a big window and get to enjoy it, but it's cold with the large windows. The snow has actually tapered off from what it was doing earlier, so, not so much now. But it was pretty about 30 minutes ago. I saw some really BIG flakes of snow.

SOOOOO PRETTY! Too bad we can't go out and enjoy it, there's just not enough to make any difference yet. Hopefully by morning it will have accumulated to play in it.

It just has to clear up b/c I am going to San Antonio on Thurs after work with my mom for my friend's wedding. YEAH. Congrats Norma!!!

Well, I am going to get back to work........Kimberly

Waiting for God

This is going to be a serious post - for once. :)

I have been praying for guidance right now. I am waiting for God to direct me and my paths the way He wants. I don't know if this burden is from the Holy Spirit or Satan trying to trick my mind. Gosh - that's hard. I know that I will figure it out, but it takes prayer, meditation, and wise counsel. Takes patience as well - which is something that I don't always have an abudance of.

My request to those who read this (and never leave comments), please pray for guidance in my life right now and that I will know what is from God and what isn't. Thanks.

Help Keep Christ in Christmas with me!

Hello!!!

I just signed a national petition urging Target to bring back the Salvation Army bell ringers, and I would like for you to join me by clicking below:

http://www.cfra.info/243/petition.asp?PID=10196446&NID=1

Last year, you may have noticed that the bell ringers were
absent from Target. That's because the giant retailer banned
the Salvation Army from gathering money that would bring
hope to those in need during the holiday season.

Despite public outcry, Target has decided to continue the ban.

The Center for Reclaiming America for Christ is gathering
200,000 citizen petitions and will deliver them to Target
headquarters as a massive show of grassroots support for
bringing back the bell ringers!

You can help make a difference by clicking here and taking
action with me:

http://www.cfra.info/243/petition.asp?PID=10196446&NID=1

Thanks so much for helping to keep the true spirit of
Christmas alive in our nation!

Shopping

Call me crazy, but it's not more of a tradition! Every year we get up early and go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. This year we didn't get up till 6:30 AM, so, that's great! There were a few deals, but nothing worth being at Best Buy at like 3:30 (doors opened at 5 AM). YEAH RIGHT!!!!

Let's see, we started off going to Target, then to Best Buy (which was really calm), Michaels, Petsmart, and Office Depot. After that was breakfast at IHOP. That is my favorite part of the whole day!! I just love going there to eat.

Other than that, that is the extent of the shopping..........oh wait, no it's not. We also went to the Thrift Store in McKinney. I like going to the McKinney one, but not so much the Plano one. I don't know why, but it's just different to me. I know, I'm weird.... :)

That's definitely all the shopping I did! Now tomorrow I am sure will be a different story. My brother is in town and he LOVES to shop - so, we'll be going tomorrow too. It will be a long day I'm sure of that. I get tired of shopping after a little while and he has a whole list of places he wants to go to.

Well, I am going to bed so that I can be prepared for tomorrow. I won't sleep real well b/c my nephew is sleeping with me while they are here. He is 4 1/2 yrs. old and cute as a button. But I'm not used to sleeping with someone and he snuggles with me all night. I sleep lighter with him with me b/c I am aware of every little move he makes. After he's been with me for a few days, I get used to him and sleep better. Or am I just exhausted from not sleeping all night long??!! haha. I wouldn't change it though, he lives in MD and I don't see him that much, so, I would rather catch up on sleep later than not have him at all. Anyone who has family far away understands that last comment!!!!!

I'm hitting the hay.......goodnight all!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hello to Everyone who reads this and never writes anything :). J/K, I'm in a sassy mood right now.

Anyways, I want to wish you a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Be safe while traveling and enjoy those you love. What are you thankful for this year? Stop and ponder on this for a moment and tell God thank you for how he has blessed your life. I am sure there are many right now that aren't feeling so blessed because a loved one is sick, a loved one has died, you are sick, family is far away, and many other reasons, but stop and look around at the creation that God has blessed us with.

I look outside right now and the sky is a gorgeous blue and the sun is smiling down on us. I see a few hawks soaring the sky looking for food. What a beautiful day God has blessed us with today.

Thank you God for all you do for me and my family/friends!

Sam

Well, this is Sam. He died at the ripe age of 14. The last 3 yrs. he has been the winner of the Ugliest Dog in the World. I can definitely see why, but I still think he is cute in his own way. I have had the privelege of being around a Chinese Crested dog before. They are really sweet, but they feel so strange. The one I was around was black and his name was Peppy. He was so cute. He did have to have lotion put on his skin daily. He also wore sun screen, etc. He definitely lived up to his name, he was Peppy!! I would play with him and he would go crazy! He was precious.

Sam this is to you...........RIP, I'm sure you were a very loving dog and I know I would have loved you too. Of course, animals have an extra big spot in my heart!!! Those who know me well know this is very true.

Time Capsule

This is really cool. You can send yourself or someone else a message in 1, 3, 5, 10 yrs. from now. I went in and sent myself one for a year from today. I can't wait to see what my life is like in a year and re-read that e-mail to see what has changed.

Enjoy! http://forbes.codefix.net/capsule/

I am getting ready to cut the cake..........SMILE!!!

The cake was awesome, it was carrot cake, one of my favorites! I don't like real sweet icing and this was a cream cheese type icing........YUMMY!!!

I'll post more pictures later. I have a picture of Kodiak & I that I want to put on here. I am thinking of using it for our Christmas card photo. I started that tradition last year. I put our pic. on cards and sent them out. They were SOO cute! Well, I need to get checking on that come to think of it.........hmmmm. I wonder when I'll have time to do that after work??

Well, that's all for now. Going to bed!

Keys to MY Heart

The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

It's My B'day!!!!!

Today is my birthday and I am now 26 yrs. old. I am excited to see what this year holds for me. I'll do a recap of 25 real quick:

Last year on my b'day I was with Beth, Bonnie, Julie, Anna, Lauren, and Melanie. I hope I didn't forget anyone else. It seems like there were a few others, but I'm sorry, I can't remember. We went and ate supper in Sundance Square in Fort Worth (that's where I lived) and then after that we went to City Street and had a ball. It was raining last year on my b'day, but that's ok, we didn't let the rain stop us from having fun!!!

I was living in Fort Worth and going to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) and studying Marriage and Family Counseling. Originally I was in Christian Counseling, but switched in the new year. Kodiak and I started dog training back in January; which she excelled in. I wish she was still training b/c she is really smart! I still work with her though and she's a great dog!! If you haven't ever met her, you gotta get to know her. Let's see, in May 2005 I moved to McKinney and started attending the church I grew up in. When I moved back, I met a great guy and through time of getting to know each other; we're dating now. I had a great summer. I love my job and got to travel to Peru with my job in September. As you can tell, things are going great!!

This time next year we'll see how 26 is and if I choose to move on to 27 or go back to 25. :)

I want to thank everyone involved in the surprise party last night!! You really had me fooled and that I am shocked about. :) It is usually tricky to get things past me. haha Just ask my mom........... :) I also want to thank all of my family and close friends that came out and celebrated with me. I had a cousin and her family come from the south side of Dallas and that's not close, so, THANK YOU!!! I appreciate it and I can't wait to see ya'll on Thanksgiving!!!

Side note: I was afraid that it was going to rain today, but I have already been outside with my dog and it's GORGEOUS outside!!!!! I am soo happy about that. I didn't want 2 yrs. in a row for it to rain on my b'day. 1 is sufficient enough.

Anyways, I am going to end this post now, but thank you to everyone and I love ya'll!!!

Muchas Gracias!!!

My Week

Last week was a very eventful week. I have finally had time to write about it, not that I'm not complaining though. Life has been a little crazy, but tonight I am chillin out and playing catch up.

The best thing this week was the Stars game last Wed. They played the LA Kings, we lost, but it was still great. Thank you Les. :) First thing was we rode the DART down to downtown Dallas to the West End. Caught another train that took us to the front of the American Airlines Center. There were 2 fights and one was awesome, the refs didn't stop them and they just kept punching. It's funny watching b/c they are punching, but they have so much padding on that they start to rip off their gloves and helmets. It's great. N E ways, enough about the fighting. It was a good time none the less. I think the final score was 6-2 (Kings).

Well, Sunday was just a cool day all the way around. For starters, at church, we are in a building campaign to build our sanctuary. We have been meeting in our gym for the last 3 yrs. I am very excited about the new building, I just wonder how long it will take once we break ground.
It was cool Les and I went to the NASCAR races out at Texas Motor Speedway (www.texasmotorspeedway.com) after church. It was fun, but I really liked it once the sun went down. I could really see the cars a whole lot better after the sun was a little out of my eyes. I want to say thank you to Jimmy and Brennan. More than likely they'll never read this, but thank you. Also, I would advise anyone that goes, make sure you have your ear plugs. If we hadn't had ear plugs, I would not hear about now........ :) I have never heard such a high pitched noise before........it was cool. I really like that sound, but wow, that was piercing.
I'd have to say though, if I had to pick NASCAR or the amateur races in Greenville, I would pick Greenville anyday! Like I told Les, NASCAR is very formal and I am more into the informal. I did enjoy NASCAR though!

Well, I am going to go for now and write another blog and read some of my friends' blogs too.

christmas pic

I was listening to Christmas music yesterday at work. It made me think back to when Kodiak & I had our 1st Christmas together. I am going to attach our Christmas photo on here. The picture shows more of her size and stature. Last time I weighed her, she was 78 lbs. I think she's getting her winter coat b/c it's getting a little poofier and getting a little longer the last couple of weeks. Of course, with that growing in, means that it will all shed too. OH FUN! I love her though, I don't mind cleaning it up. She's just like a kid to me, in fact, she's my dogger. Now that I just chased a few rabbits, let me get this picture on here.
Aren't these antlers just too cute. She is even smiling, can you see her teeth??? That's hillarious, I just love looking at pictures.

Revenes

Well well well, tonight was quite interesting. All I gotta say is," you gotta watch out for those revenes."

Kristy and I had been at the dog park in Allen tonight and as we were getting ready to leave, we had a little bit of an incident. We had the dogs all loaded, seat belts on, lights on, etc. Well, we went to go forward and KABOOM down we went.

It was a hard hit, but it happened so fast! We looked at each other and we were both slanted forward. We had gone off into a revene. Everyone was okay. Well, I got out and looked and yep, you guessed it.......we were STUCK!! We had gone down about 3 - 3 1/2 feet into this nice revene. My back wheels were still on the ground, but no matter which direction I tried to go........NOTHING! It sure was smoking though from the tires having so much resistance. Yuck, lots of smoke too right after we hit too.

We both got out and this man had been leaving the same time as us. So, he stayed with us until Mike (a great man) came to save the day. Kristy tried calling her parents, but no tow ropes. My parents were at a viewing of my great aunt or something like that pretty far away. So, we called Mike..........YEAH! He has 3 daughters, so, he knows what it's like to have girls. For you guys, you'll understand someday. Thank you Mike if you ever read this, I appreciate it so much. While we were standing around waiting for Mike to come, I said," If Les was here he could have come and got me out."

Well, Mike arrived and used his Escalade and a ski rope to pull me out. It took a while, but my explorer finally budged. It did snap the ropes 2x and he had to call the tow company. He wanted to try 1 more time by using the pieces that were left from the ski rope and to our dismay.........out came the explorer..........BARELY.

Kristy and I hugged Mike bye and we left. I got my car to where I could see it and nothing was damaged except for my license plate bracket. My license plate is barely hanging on. So, besides the mud, that's it.

The one question people kept asking was," why did ya'll do that?" Well, I wouldn't say we exactly wanted to try to drive off into a deep revene tonight. But thank you God for allowing Mike to be home and to be able to get me out w/o costing me anything but my time. I can definitely handle that.

Well, that was the excitement of the revene tonight. I wish I had a digital camera so that I could have taken a picture of this adventure to post on here and to remember forever.

Later..........Kimberly

Porcupine Babies

Okay, well, here are the cutest little babies. They are porcupine babies. I would love to cuddle up to one of those, oh wait, nevermind, I'll get poked........haha Anyways, I'll settle for looking at the picture of them. Look out those big noses! They remind of those little stuffed animals when I was little that you could fold out into a toy or fold it into a ball. What is the name of that.......like Popples or something like that. It's right there, but can't quite catch it. OH WELL!

Anyways, everyone have a great weekend! TGIF.

I liked reading these and agree with the majority of them. If you have a comment on any of them, feel free to leave a comment ~Kim

FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

How did they get these pictures developed????

Watch out for those logs!
Did we miss the Dead End sign??
Get out of the way!!!!
Did you feel that????
Don't fall!!!!!!!!

These pictures are quite messed up if I do say so myself. I wonder how they got these pictures ever developed or is it all just a big put on??? Makes you wonder though, what would you do if you were in some of these circumstances?
For starters, I would make sure that I was right with our Saviour Jesus Christ. It wouldn't be too long until I was standing at the throne of the pearly white gates. I would be having to take into account all my sins over my lifetime. Believe me, I'm not perfect, but I am forgiven! When you're a child of God, He forgives you when you ask. The only thing you have to do is admit that you were a sinner (John 3:16) and ask Jesus to come inside and have a relationship with you (Revelation 3:20). You are not automatically saved b/c you go to church or your family goes to church. It's all about a relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions about being a Christian, please feel free to e-mail me at k_m_j_98@yahoo.com.
Have a great day!!!! :)

Monday's

Gosh, can we just get rid of Mon.???? I went to bed last night at 9:45 PM and slept good until I woke up around 1:30 AM. I slept on and off for the rest of the night. My mind was just going to town.......lol I'm not tired, I think I my problem is that I would rather be outdoors than sitting at my desk. It looks so nice outside. Thank goodness I have a huge window in my office to look out. I would be totally lost if I didn't have a window. I bet I look out that window 200x a day, I just glance back often to look at the sky or the clouds. We even occassionally watch the people outside..........now that can be FUNNY!!!

Yesterday I was out in the woods with Les while he changed out his hog feeders. While we were out there, he showed me this HUGE Cottonwood Tree. It was the coolest tree and a hidden secret of collin county. It is this huge tree that is hollow in the middle. It was so big that him and I both got in and the dog and still had space. WOW!!!! You could look up and see the sky above, but the tree extended upward too. You could see the leaves on the tree above the hollow section. Like he said," you'd think it was dead, but then there's leaves." That was true. Kodiak had a ball running around and biting all the sticks that were around. There were soo many she didn't know which one to grab first. It was really nice out there under the trees, there was a slight breeze. Very nice!

My poochy was doing really good last night, but when we got up this morning her paw was swollen. I took her to the vet b/c she wouldn't walk on it. She let me examine it this morning b-4 we even left and I couldn't see a thorn or any cuts. The vet thinks that she got bit by a spider or there is a thorn and he can't see it either. He took her temp. and she did have a fever.......poor baby!! So, she got 2 types of pills and hopefully she will feel better soon. I hope it was just a spider bite and the meds. work to heal her body quickly. I know she'll bounce back quick, she's only 20 months old..........so, she'll be fine. I'm sure of that.

Overall, she had a ball!!! So did I for that matter. I'm gonna get back to work, I have a few things I need to do.

Peace Out! :)

p.s. I forgot to write about the drag strip. It was cool, but I like the other car racing better! I like the round track b/c they do laps and you get to hear the cars race their engines more. Plus, there is more action of wrecking and spinning out. It's cool as long as no one is seriously injured.

10.08.2005

Beautiful!!!

Okay, it's now 4:45 and Kodiak and I had a blast at the park. We went out there and we crossed the creek into the forest. I found a sign back in there that lead us to a Nature Walk. So, off we went and followed the sign. We wondered around in there and she was indeed off her leash. I let her go down to the creek 2x and she was sooooo excited about that. She is as easily amused as I am. :) We walked around in there for a while and came to a few dead ends, but it was nice in there. There was a little bit of a breeze, but it was fairly calm down in there.

I ran into a family that was walking around in there too, so, I talked with them for a little while. Ended up, they lived only like 1 mile or less from me. How funny is that?!

Kodiak is sooo tired now. She ran and ran and ran. When we got home, she played with a dog and they ran around the complex too. So, she is definitely all worn out! YEAH! (doesn't happen too often)

Anyways, I am going to go and shower now, so, I'll write more later! I am going to watch dragracing tonight, so, I'll write about that tomorrow.

Townlake Park

Today has been absolutely beautiful. Kodiak and I just got home, but I think I will take her to the park. It's soo nice outside that I just can't resist not going out, so, I think we'll go to the park. I think we're going to go to Townlake Park here in McKinney.

I know Kodiak will have a blast! A fellow dog owner told me that there was a creek back in the woods and that I could let her run free. I think I'm gonna go back in the forest and let her run around. Should be pretty, especially with the nice weather that we're blessed with.

Well, we're off to the park now, I'll write how it goes later!

10.06.2005

65 Degrees!!

YEAH!!!! I am so excited that fall is here. I went to bed last night and it was about 78 degrees and this morning it was 54 degrees! I was outside when the front started to come in last night. It was very nice. I am soo happy about that. There's something about getting cozy in a blanket and watching a bonfire. :)

There is something about every season that I love:

Spring - all the pretty flowers that start blooming.

Summer - getting to get out and about outside and do all the fun summer activities!

Fall - the leaves changing & falling, that's a gorgeous site!

Winter - really cold temp. and just being with the ones you care most about.

I am going to close for now. I'll put more thoughts on later!

Camping!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but my work week has been a little busy, but that's always good. :)

Okay, about my weekend, it was great! I had a blast camping and it was great to be out in nature. Doris and I slept in my tent and we had the top off. We could see the stars above us and it was soooo calming. I saw a shooting star which was just way too cool. I love stars and most of all, shooting stars! There is not much to compare to that!!! They just amaze me so much and since I can't see them whenever I want, I just consider them a present from God on His time.

Sat. we were out on the lake and I caught a catfish. It wasn't that big, but we kept it and we all got to try a few bites of it. Sat. night Les and I went out fishing again in a cove. To my dismay, I didn't catch anything and very few bites. His luck was in the air b/c he caught like 3 or 4 fish. He threw them all back in the water though. It was so nice out on the lake Sat. night. There was a cool breeze and some waves. Very relaxing!

We ended up staying 2 nights. It was just too nice out there to not stay. We were having a good time and I'm glad we stayed. I can't wait to get out there again.

I took Kodiak with me and she did sooo good. I was so proud of her! I didn't know if she would behave or not, but she did. That was her first time to go camping. I had wanted to take her camping last summer, but never got the opportunity to go. YEAH, she's gone camping now.

On Sat. night, I slept on the hammick. I could hear a train in the distance and there were coyotes howling and running. Nothing like coyotes to top off the camping trip. I heard them a few times, so, that was cool. I used to be able to hear them a few times a week when I lived w/ my parents, but now the coyotes are going away. The city is beginning to clear out the fields and that is making the coyotes even more scarce. I am so mad at that. I just love hearing them and actually seeing them on occassion too. I just loved living in the country, there's nothing like it. You just never realize how nice it is to have your neighbors an acre or so away.

Well, I have definitely ranted and raved, so, I'll close for now.

Ciao!

9.30.2005

TGIF!!!

There is only 12 more minutes till the weekend........I can literaly taste it. :)

Tonight I am going camping and I am so excited about it. I can't wait to get out there and enjoy the 'great outdoors!' It'll be a blast! I'm going out w/ Les and his mom Doris, so, we'll have fun. My poochy Kodiak will be there too. I can't wait to feel the cool breeze and watch the sunset and see the lake. I hope I catch some fish, the last couple times I've gone out, I have caught anything. But, I have got to sit under the stars.

My parents and I were out on Mon. (I think?) Where has this week gone!? Anyways, I was laying on the front of the boat and I saw like 3 or 4 satellites, so, that was cool. No shootin' stars the last couple of times, but maybe tonight. I'm hoping for one. I just LOVE looking up at the stars. They are just so amazing to me.

Well, now there is 7 minutes left and I am going to clean my desk up a little and then it'll be 5. YEAH! (don't get me wrong, I love my job, but I love the weekend too).

Ciao ~ Kimberly

Cooler Temps!

Oh how exciting last night was. I was sitting at my apartment watching the cold front coming in. Kristy came over around 7:30 PM or so and we had the dogs together. It was fun! Then Kristy and I left the dogs together and we ran to Old Navy and then to Sonic......go figure. :) I'm addicted, what can I say. I have loved the place for like 10 years now and usually visit it at least 1x a week. Does anyone know if they have a Sonic Anonymous........lol

Anyways, we could literally feel the cooler temps coming in while we sat on my porch. It was nice. By the time I went to bed, it was cool enough to open the windows. I even left my back door open, so, that was nice also. I woke up around 5AM and wandered through my apartment. I saw my dog sound a sleep on the couch. She was laying on her back w/ her paws in the air........so cute! I know she saw me b/c her tail started wagging. I went back and laid down in my bed and a few minutes later, she came in and laid on the bed with me. My alarm clock went off at 6:25AM and she was still asleep with her head on the extra pillow and once again, her paws were in the air. She's soo funny!!!

The cooler air is much welcomed by me. YEAH!!! Sweatshirt time, I just love this time of year.

I think we should work outside today..........enjoy the weather. Of course, without the sun shining brightly, I am getting a little sleepy, but with 3 hours left, I know I can make it.

I need to get back to work, but thought I would comment on the wonderful weather. You know you're in TX when it can be sunny and 104 degrees one day and the very next day, cloudy and 65 degrees. CRAZY!? (absolutely)

Okay okay, to all who have wondered what I look like, you can finally see me. :) This is actually a pretty good picture too.

Go to www.mmint.org. Once you're there, go to Calendar. There will be a long list of upcoming projects that are on there. All you have to do is click on Add to Cart (something like that) and my picture will show up. My projects are:

The picture is the same on all the projects, so, you can pick a project of your choice and see what I look like. The picture was taken while I was in Peru and I didn't even know it was going to be posted online. Victor (our IT guy) came to work today and told me to check it out, what a surprise!!!

Anyways, I am going to get back to work now. Just wanted to take a few moments and write that!

Ciao ~ KJ

I'm HOME!

Hello, I'm home!!!! Well, I had a great time in Peru. I really enjoyed meeting everyone that was there. We had about 15 countries represented or so. Most of them spoke Spanish, so, I practiced my Spanish while I was there. It was cool.

I am glad to be back too. The week flew by really fast, but of course it was full of meetings!! WOW.

Well, if you want to know more, just e-mail me and I'll write more. I'll try to put pictures on here when I get them. I want to put some nature pictures on here when I get them, if they turn out ok.

Later!

BJ

I have recently read BJ's blog www.prayforbj.com and I have sad news to tell you. BJ has passed away and gone on to be with the Lord. Please lift the family up as they grieve. They lost him today around 3:00 AM. I can only imagine how they are hurting during this time.

Lord, please comfort this family and wrap your loving arms around them. Help them to grow close as a family. May this situation touch many people's lives and see the faith they have in You. We praise you. Amen.

California Rolls

Last night for supper, I wanted California rolls. It is a type of sushi, but no raw meat! YUCK, I don't like raw meat. Anyways, this is what it looked like. If you look at the rolls to the far left, that's what they looked like except mine had sesame seeds around the outside. There was rice, avocado, crab meat and cucumber wrapped in a seaweed strip. Funny thing is, you can't taste the seaweed, thank goodness. Anyways, just thought I would share. I am slow at work this morning. I am all ready to go and now just waiting to leave here at noon. I have off from 12 - 3, then we're meeting together at 3:14 to depart for the airport.

I'll update when I get home! Enjoy the pictures that I've posted.

Kodiak & her padres

These are Kodiak's parents. Her dad is Kiwi and her mom is Missy.
Kodiak got her height/weight from her dad and her markings from her mom.
Of course, I think Kodiak is the prettiest, but I just a biased mom..........haha

Kodiak

Here is Kodiak at 5 wks. old!!!! How could I not resist her. She looks so cute laying in the flowers.

Kim & Kodiak

Here is a picture of Kodiak & I last summer. She was about 5 or 6 months old. As you can tell, she's always been a big girl! I'll add more pictures of her when she was a little puppy.

Enjoy!
This tarantula was found in Peru. It looks HUGE, but I'm sure it's not as big as it looks. I wonder if I'll come across anything like this. If so, I'm gonna take a picture of it too. This is my first time putting a picture on like this, so, hopefully it will work. I'll write more later tonight.

Peace.......Kimberly

4 more nights

Wow, today went by too fast. I have been thinking about my upcoming trip. I am really excited, but at the same time, it's a bittersweet trip. I am not going to have e-mail or phone, so, I'll be separated from my world and entering into a whole new world for a week. I wonder if that's what the Katrina victims are feeling?? That thought just occurred to me. They are away from their whole world and they don't even know when they will get to go back, IF they'll go back. I will be with 50+ people that I do not know. I will have my office staff that I know. I am excited though b/c now I can place names/voices with faces. How fun is that! Everyone that I have dealt with in the MMI (click on MMI to go to our home page) organization are great. They have helped me adjust to working with MMI and patient with me while I learn all my countries. WOW, talk about a little overwhelming at times, but I would not change a thing with that. This is exactly where God was leading me and it's a great feeling to know that I am where God placed me.

God always uses these moments when I am away from loved ones of just how much I need to trust in Him and rely fully on Him, instead of those around me. It'll be neat to see what God teaches me while I am gone.

Well, that's enough of what's going on in my mind for now. There's a lot more up there that is just rolling around......haha :)

Adios.......Kimberly

Lima, Peru

Well, I am going to be leaving in 5 days (Fri. afternoon). I was counting, my dog will be staying with me for only 5 more nights b-4 I leave. I am really excited about going, but at the same time, I'll sure miss my family and friends. Please keep sending me e-mails while I am gone, then when I get home, I can catch up and see what I missed while I was away. :)

I know Kodiak will miss me while I'm gone, so, if anyone wants to go and cheer her up while I am gone, feel free to call my cell phone, my parents will have the phone. She'll be staying with her grammy and poppy..........lol She loves going to visit with them!!!!!

Peace out!!!

Praise the Lord

Praise the Lord, we heard from my uncle just a little while ago!!! They are safe, but he said Covington is gone. They are going to be living on their boat for a while. I'm not sure how long, but for a while. He finally made it to his house and he said that the "Fern Room" has his neighbors tree in it, but according to him, that's the worst. The Fern Room is named after my grandma. Her name was Fern.

His boat is in good condition and I am so glad for that. Other than that, this is all I know for the time being.

Thank you for the prayers!!!! :)

Katrina

Wow, can you believe this hurricane?? It's amazing out how much damage there is. Our family is in a little bit of distress, so please pray for us. We have not heard from my uncle and aunt since Mon. morning b-4 the hurricane came in and power was lost. My uncle lives on the Tchefuncte River and it floods even when they have bad storms. Please pray that their house is not completely flooded and that their boat is not damaged. His boat means alot to him and I hope that it is ok. I think that would just be not good at all. I appreciate the prayers and I know they do too.

Thank you.

Car Racin'

Oh wow, if you didn't go last night to the races, you missed it a great time!!!! This was my first time to go out to amateur car racing. We were out in Greenville, TX and we had 7 in our group last night. There was literally mud-slinging around and dust in your eyes, but I just blinked and kept watching and cheering on my cars. Well, not MY cars, but as my friends and I sat there, we would pick a car and cheer for it.
Story from last night: We were sitting there and there hadn't been any wrecks yet, but next thing we know...........a car flips and catches on fire. They are saying over the speakers to stay away from the car, but they don't, some men fly out there b/c the driver hasn't come out yet. I was a little worried b/c he hadn't come out yet, but then he came a scurrying out of the car........YEAH, he was ok. I'm sure he was in a little bit of shock once he flipped and it caught on fire. It took a while for them to get the fire out and they kept saying, please stay back in case it blows up. Well, it didn't blow up, and they finally got the fire put out. It was great, especially since the driver was Ok.
2nd Story f/ last night: There were 2 cars that hit and one spun out and smacked into another car. I think the radiator (correct Les?) blew and water came spewing out. He was MAD. He took his gloves and helmet off. He had the guy that spun him out stop and I am pretty sure he was yelling at him. That was cool!!!
We could see the lightening in the background just flickering across the background..........so pretty........
We left when some of the girls were getting tired, but I wanted to stay till it was over, but that's ok, at least I got a couple more hours of sleep b-4 going to church today.
Talking of church, I need to go and get ready for church.

Till my next post.......Kim

Urgent Prayer Needed

Please go and look at this site: http://prayforbj.blogspot.com/ It is very important that prayer goes out for this young man. He is in great need of the healing hand of our Lord to touch his fragile body. Satan definitely attacks those who bring glory to the Lord. He never wants to see us succeed in our relationship with God.

Our relationship with our Creator is a never-ending process. With all that you have, go to Him, He wants us to rely on Him for everything!!

If you want to know more about having a relationship with Christ, please contact me on here.

God Bless You (Dios te Bendiga),

Kimberly

Bible Brain Twister

Way to jump start your brain.

Bible Brain Twister By John Kezer
I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu, kept people looking so hard for facts, and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books are not capitalized, but the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others, it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of the 17, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now, for there really are the names of 17 books of the Bible in these sentences.
One preacher found 16 books in 20 minutes. It took him three weeks to find the seventeenth one.

Fishin'

Kodiak's 1st adventure in a boat was last night. She did really good. Once we got the boat stopped, guess who hopped in???? Yep you guessed it.......Kodiak! Oh how she loves to swim. She cried one time when I got her paw stuck in the back, but I put her back in the water and tried again. She did get in the water about 3-4 times, don't remember exactly. She did swim out with Les and she kept her eye on him to make sure that he was ok. Tiff and I just sat out on the boat. It never failed though, as soon as Kodiak got in the boat, she would go where Tiff was and would shake off on her, but the diameter of the water that came off Kodiak was actually like 5 feet, so, Tiff and I got to feel the water without getting in.

She did get scared 1 time and she was shaking some when Les got the boat moving pretty quick. Which her and I almost flew off the front of the boat........how funny that would have been. I probably would have held onto her as we flew through the air, but we did make it!! YEAH, no falling off.

The fish weren't biting at all last night, but the moon was great! Les, Tiffany, and I had good conversation and just relaxed under the moonlight. You can't beat that at all. We enjoyed the cool breeze and watched the moon slowly skate in space as it reflected off the water. The temperature last night could not have been more perfect and the weather conditions too.

It was nice to be able to enjoy God's creation and slow down and take the time to REALLY enjoy it. Thank you God for your creation!

T-storms

WOW, talk about thunderstorms yesterday. We had a gully-washer yesterday in the DFW metroplex. Kristy (a great friend of mine), Aurora (her puppy), Caleb (my nephew), Kodiak (my doggy) and myself were going to go to Lake Lavon and go swimming with the dogs and Caleb. It had been raining at my parents house and we decided to try and go out there anyway. You never know where the storms a hittin and where it's not. So, we took a chance. We got out there and to our surprise, the sky started turning greenish and there were MANY low hangin clouds. It started looking pretty threatening. So, we decide that we're not going to stay. Caleb starts crying b/c he really wants to swim. How disappointing that is to a 4 yr. old. I am driving and we are on Lucas Rd. and I can't even see the road b/c it's raining SOOOO hard. We go to Sonic and we get out there and eat sundaes (that made Caleb's day). He kept saying," I'm sorry it's raining." He is sooo sweet.

The lights almost went out at Sonic 3-4x, so, it was definitely severe storms yesterday. The sky was soo dark blue and black.

I get to my apartment later with Caleb and stunned in amazement, it has not rained a drop there. HELLO!!!

So, Caleb and I go and check the mail and it's lightening pretty bad at this point. I put him to sleep around 9:30 pm and I take Kodiak outside for one last time till morning and it's POURING! YEAH, it's raining.

I opened up the door the porch and opened the windows. It was great falling asleep to the rain as it fell outside.

Anyways, that was the adventure for yesterday!

I wonder what is in store for today....always an adventure!

Ciao,
Kimberly

Bonham Rodeo

I might have shaken off the country in me before, but now I realize just how great it is. Nothing beats a good ole rodeo out in the country and enjoying the cool air with your cowboy hat on. :) I was at the Bonham Rodeo on Friday night and boy did we have a ton of fun!!! (I knew there was country in me more than I knew) Thanks to Les and Brian who drove their broncos/blazers up there. We had 11 people go. There was all kinds of things going on. From bull-riding to tricks on horses to calf-ropin'. It was soo much fun. I really enjoy being in the "cowboy" scene, but just never had anyone to do it with. When's our next rodeo?? It is soo relaxed and easy going, doesn't that sound like me??? Yes, I've even been told that I am the most easy-going person ever, I don't know about that, but it explains a little bit about me. Isn't that what the blog pages are for???? haha

After the rodeo we went into OK and crossed the Red River, I saw a shooting star and the sky was gorgeous!!! I would go back up there just for the stars anyday. I got to drive Les's bronco down in to an old creek bed (still had water in it, but rock bottom). It was GREAT!! I loved doing that, there's a first time for everything, that's for sure. I've never done that, but that was so much fun. Thanks Les for letting me drive!!!

I have been around horses quite a bit, more when I was younger. I have rounded up cattle on horseback in MT, now that's an adventure too. I have fixed barb wire fences and many other things, but I have learned that you only fix barb wire fences when you have gloves on, it is sharp!!! I love to be a horse, it is so relaxing. When I was 15, I wanted a horse instead of a car, how cool is that. But, I didn't get it. My car did have a lot of "horse power" though. hahaha

Anyways, tonight we went downtown Dallas tonight, WOW, what a trip. We definitely needed more guys for the event tonight. We got on the DART with these crazy girls who make like 4-5 calls on Brian's phone and they were totally rude when he wanted his phone back. They took all of Erin's gum, how rude, not even saying thank you. All 5-6 girls wanted gum. They were not nice at all. They probably called their pimp from Brian's phone.......haha j/k

We had a good time downtown. We ate at Hoffbrau Steakhouse, we were there almost 2 hours, service was VERY slow. We finally got out of there and went to the Market. There was live music, artists, etc. I just love it down there, so many interesting things going on!!!!! I used to go downtown and dance, but haven't been down in a while. I would say it's been a good 3 years or so. Kind of slowed my dancing scene down too, but we still kicked up our heels in Fort Worth (when I lived there this last year) at City Streets and Billy Bob's (the LARGEST honky tonk in the world!!)
www.billybobs.com (I think) check it out, it's definitely fun when there is a good group of friends and no ones afraid to dance, that sounds like fun.........anyone up to going???????

Well, I am signing off and going to bed b-4 my laptop battery goes out.

Later!!!

Kimberly

Rodeo

Hello!!! I am sorry that it's been over a month since I last updated.

Let's see, I am loving my job and I have now been there for a little over 3 wks. It's great! I am getting it down and really enjoying it.

Last night I went to the rodeo with my Sunday school class and we had so much fun. Before that we went and ate at Trail Dust. We went down the slide MANY times and had a blast. You can't beat that big ole slide in there!!!

No one got hurt at the rodeo, so, that's was cool. I cringe a few times when I thought that a guy who was bull ridin was gonna get hurt, but they didn't. YEAH!

In 2 more days, Kodiak is going to be 1 yr. and 5 mo. old. She is so sweet and just growing up like a perfect doggy. She is the best companion I could ask for at this time in my life. She gets to go to "Doggy Daycare" during the day. My parents want to watch her while I'm at work (they're retired). So, I drop her off on my way to work and then pick her up on my way home.

Oh, last weekend a friend of mine got married. It was a sweet wedding. We (bridesmaids) wore black gowns that were so pretty! They were strapless and VERY cute. Good job Christy!!!!!
The bump on the back of my head (from the ponytail) is almost gone, but gosh, that sure did hurt! The lady who fixed my hair got it too tight and I was in pain all day long w/o relief. I have never experienced a 12 hr. headache before, I have a much greater respect for those who suffer from migraines. OUCH!!!

Anyways, I need to get ready for church and head out. Have a great day all!

Love ya!
